One of my favorite books to read to my kids is called How Kind! By Mary Murphy. It’s a little young for them, but I still love the message. It’s about one animal doing a small act of kindness for another, then that animal does one for another, and then another, and so on…. It beautifully illustrates not only the domino effect of kindness, but also gives a perfect example of Raising Vibration.
If you have been following me at all, you’ll know that as a teacher, healer and spiritual guide it is my mission in life to walk with people towards their own true path, illuminating their own magnificence and purpose on this earth plane. A natural side effect of this organic process is raising your vibration. When I raise my vibration, the vibration of my partner raises, the vibration of my kids raise and those who I allow to bring drama into my life seem to not show up so much. Funny that, eh?
Kindness shifts our vibration. Being kind is actually natural for us, believe it or not! When we volunteer our time, we offer kindness on many levels. Say you serve food to someone at soup kitchen. That person goes looking for a seat as someone moves their stuff aside so they can have a place. Then that person notices a sad child and offers a smile to perk them up. Maybe the mother of that child is relieved for just that second that her child smiles. Kindness can spark happiness and faith in the world and in humanity if even in small spurts.
So imagine what we could do as a collective by offering kindness? Our true essences would be exposed, starving any lower vibrational energies around us.
I’ve experienced kindness that has left me speechless and in tears of gratitude. I’ve been fortunate enough to have that same effect on other people. Am I perfect? Hell no. Am I kind all the time? Nope. But I want to be. And I strive to be. And then I think of this quote:
“In a world where you can be anything, Be Kind.”
You can be kind without being a doormat. You can be kind and be firm. You can be kind and silly. You can be kind and gentle. Kindness doesn’t cost anything. It only reaps rewards.

Hey Julie! what is a Soul Session with you like anyway??
So I get this question a lot! The honest answer is this: I don’t know! And the truth is I won’t know until you are in front of me via Zoom or in person at my super cozy office.
Here is what I DO know: I serve Spirit. I know in my heart of hearts that if you have found me, then that is the work of Spirit bringing us together for a reason. I am a healer, teacher and guide and have been for many lifetimes. I am a light worker. I have an ever-expanding toolbox of healing modalities that I am passionate about filling and updating every change I get. This is how I serve now and for the rest of my days here on earth.
When we meet, we will talk about what is on your mind and what you are looking for. Sometimes that lasts 10 minutes, sometimes that lasts 30 seconds. I go where I am guided. I, as “Julie,” step aside and act as the hollow bone for Spirit to give you what you need. I see, hear and feel Spirit and sometimes I taste and smell things, too. This process often involves a combination of shamanic healing techniques, mediumship, cartomancy, and reiki. Whatever it is, you will receive! And 99.9% of the time you will be laughing.
If you are drawn to this, don’t be shy! Unleash your magnificence! Contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org

It’s September 3, 2019 and the air has a slightly damp chill in it from the morning dew but the petals from the vase full of sunflowers on my writing table are beginning to drop. I still hear the “Hot Bugs” making their noises outside in the trees, one last attempt at breeding and then falling back into the earth to be transformed and composted. Do they expect to do that? To fulfill their destiny here on this earth plane? Do they question what their life path is?
I expect each day of September to be different here in New England. Today we may need the fan. Tomorrow I may need socks. Always I expect miracles. Always I expect the trees to greet me in the morning when I drink my coffee. Always I must give back in order to keep receiving the blessings I receive on a daily basis.
How our life is and what we thought it would be may be two different things. Sometimes we get what we want and sometimes we get what we need. When we were young, many (hopefully well intentioned) people told us what was expected of us- good manners, be nice, don’t rock the boat, be kind, be successful which means make lots of money, have a nice house and a nice car, don’t hang out with the wrong crowd, you will be guilty by association, always tell the truth. Expectancy.
Do we expect a good life even if we don’t work for it? Do we expect good things to happen to us because we did all that was expected of us? Do we expect to get what we want if we never give, only ever just performing for the masses? Giving is just as important as receiving. Receiving is just as important as giving. The Universe loves gratitude and love. It values reciprocity. What do you expect?
A significant life lesson I learned long ago about expectations is this: expectations must be managed! You cannot expect something from someone who is not willing to or able to give you what you need. You cannot expect someone to better their lives if they don’t want to. You cannot expect someone who doesn’t love themselves to love you. You cannot expect happiness for someone who wants only to live in martyrdom. You cannot expect prosperity if you live in fear of loss and lack.
Expectancy. You know what I expect? I expect all good things lie before me. I expect to be prosperous and healed. I expect to get what I put out. If I put out junk vibrations into the ethers, I expect to get junk. When I put out love and joy, I get love and joy back. I also expect MYSELF to strive every day, no matter how hard, to live in love and gratitude. I wake up every day with a quick start- such are the circumstances of life with my young children right now- BUT, I always, at the very least, say, “Thank you, Great Spirit for another beautiful day” before putting my feet on the floor. I’m working on that a little more all the time, but right now I expect that will be enough.
The Thinning Veil- What Does That Mean?
What better time of year to talk of Spirit than Halloween?
There have been many times during my spiritual journey where I have not known what all the buzz around the “thinning of the veil” is and why it’s significant. As a psychic medium, intuitive, empath, earth-based spiritualist, etc… I felt like the veil was thin all the time. So what’s so special about the veil in October (in the Northern Hemisphere) and why is it called a veil?
The “veil” represents the boundary between this world on the earthly plane and the spirit world. It covers what is to be “seen” on the other side. During this time of year, the veil is thinning as it follows another turn of the wheel of the year, and we see this in the earth’s behavior. The leaves are falling from the trees, plant energy retreats to its roots for the winter, animals go into hibernation, birds fly to warmer climates and the squirrels look unbelievably large as they gather and bury acorns. Happening this time of year for we humans, the last crops are harvested and traditionally, animals are slaughtered to be stored for winter food. As the days grow shorter and the nights grow longer and much colder, we retreat inside around the fire place, surrounded by friends and family, sharing stories or contemplating what is most precious to us in life.
21st century culture isn’t conducive for much of this, however, that doesn’t mean it can’t be done. When we become still, we are naturally prone to hear more, to listen longer and to contemplate deeper. From this meditative state, the words, sounds and signs from Spirit can be easily seen all around us. All we have to do is ask.
If you are a person who typically dreads this time of year, I challenge you think of all of the good that you can get out of it. Sit quietly with a lit candle next to you and think about all you have achieved this year, what you want to see change and what new things could emerge for you when the earth begins to awaken on the Spring Equinox.
These rituals are similar to what people may take to doing on January 1st of every calendar year, but why not ease into it instead of being your own Task Master of joining a gym, losing weight or quitting drinking? We both know that this ultimately makes us feel rotten for not meeting those unrealistic expectations. Setting ourselves up to fail is neither productive or inspiring. Take advantage of the thinning veil to honor the Self. Taking time for true reflection over a period of time is much more in the flow and congruous to our natural inclinations this time of year.
Maybe you’ve lost a loved one and would love to hear a comforting message from them or see a sign that they know you’re thinking of them. The thinning veil brings them closer to us in a way as we become less distracted and more inward. They are always there, guiding us with love and light.
What we can do this time of year as the veil thins is gather the energy of the ideas of what we want to grow, to germinate, and ultimately be re-birthed in the spring when the Mother begins to wake up once again. Our guides and ancestors are always with us, guiding us, whispering in our ears and giving us daily signs, that Hey, We love you! We are here! Everything is going to be OK this winter.
Whatever ritual you feel compelled to do is “perfect”. That’s the thing that is so hard to remember in the loud world we live in. Just remember that how we answer our own soul’s calling is exactly what we need to do.
Happy New Year!
Love and blessings to all, always…
